Regarding the Tragedy in Kawartha Lakes

From all our members, the child welfare sector and caregivers province-wide, ORCA would like to express our deepest sympathies with the youth who perished on Friday, February 24th and the family of Andrea Reid - who was by all accounts a dedicated Child and Youth Worker.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the survivors and their families. Working with youth is at most times extremely rewarding, however, as we learn more about this tragedy in the months and possibly years ahead we must accept that there are real risks and we must do our best to prevent events like this one from happening again.
